Al-Huda Membership Information:
Membership is open to persons living in Ithaca and the Finger Lakes region who are Muslims and
outwardly adhere to Islam, follow and abide by the Quran and the Sunnah (practices of the Prophet
Muhammad peace and blessings be upon him), and show a good Islamic conduct, and practice it.
Member Responsibilities:
- Participate in Masjid activities and function as a nucleus of Islamic education and conduct;
- Elect the Majlis Shura, Officers, and Sulh Committee
- Adopt resolutions to promote the aims and purposes of the Al-Huda Islamic Center;
- Sponsor amendments to be considered for review by the Board;
- Ratify amendments to the constitution and bylaws by a 75% majority after amendments are passed by the Officers;
- Remove a member of the Majlis Shura or Executive Committee with due reason by 75% majority vote of the Assembly.
- Attend Assembly meetings (The Assembly will meet at least once per year)
- Every member shall have one vote in the Assembly.
- Members attending a meeting may represent one proxy vote only.
- Agree to abide by the conflict resolution principles and procedures in the Bylaws.
