Eid al-Adha 2025
Assalaamu alaikum
Arafah and Thursday Ifthar in the Masjid.
The day of Arafah will be observed on Thursday June 5th 2025.
An Ifthar will be sponsored by the Masjid following the Maghrib prayer shortly after sunset, please plan to join us. The main meal will be provided you may bring a dessert to share if you wish.
For those not performing Hajj it is highly encouraged to fast this day if you are able. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said that fasting on this day “expiates the sinsof the previous year and the coming year, ” according to sahih Muslim.
Among many recommended acts of worship for Arafah are;
- Du’a: The Day of Arafah is considered the best day for supplication, and muslims are encouraged to make heartfelt prayers and seek forgivness.
- Qur’an: Reciting the Quran is an act of worship on any day, but particularly during this blessed time.
- Sadaqah: On the day of Arafah, giving charity holds special merit.
- Dhikr: Engage in frequent dhikr of Allah throughout the day.
