Ramadan 1446 AH

2025

EID MUBARAK

Assalamu alaikum,

“O you who have believed, fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwa.”(Qur’an 2:183)

As Ramadan 1446 comes to an end there are many events and activities planned. We will try to outline the schedule and remind about some of our obligations.

Friday and Saturday Ramadan 28 and 29: Iftar, Tarawih, Tahajjud and Khatm of Qur’an

When the sun sets this evening the 29th night of Ramadan will begin. Please join us at the masjid to share a sponsored iftar dinner, everyone is welcome.  The Tarawih prayers will be performed immediately following ‘Isha tonight and we will celebrate the Khatm al-Qur’an.  This is the final odd night of the month and the Tahajjud prayers will be observed in congregation beginning at 3:45 AM in the masjid.
Iftar will also be offered in the masjid on Saturday evening, and the month of Shawwal is expected to begin.

Special Fund Raising Event with Helping Hand

Our dear friend Brother Shonnan from the Helping Hand for Relief and Development organization will join us again on this evening to accept donations for relief assistance in Gaza and the many other regions they serve. Donations to Helping Hand are tax deductible and can also be paid to this organization as Zakat. Take advantage of giving generously during Ramadan to increase your rewards, in shaa’Allah.

Zakat al-Fitr

Paying the zakat al-Fitr is an obligation, and it must be paid for every Muslim before Eid.. This year the Fiqh Council of Noth America has calculated the zakat al-Fitr amount per person to be $10. The collection box is now in the masjid lobby, please plan to pay with cash for yourself and every member of your household. Zakat al-Fitr must be paid before the Eid prayer so that distribution can be made for those without means to be able to share in celebrating Eid.

Eid al-Fitr (Prayer Time Change from Previous Announcement)

The calculations followed by the Islamic Society of North America show the crescent of Shawwal to be visible Saturday night.

Our community will plan to celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, March 30. For the convenience of our families with children we will plan to hold the Eid prayer at 9 AM in shaa’Allah.

Please arrive early to leave time for parking, the takbirrat will begin at 8:45. Remember that it is obligatory to have prayed Fajr, to have broken your fast, and paid your Zakat al-Fitr before performing the Eid prayer.

Community Eid Celebration

Following the Eid prayer we will plan to have our community celebration at the masjid. Refreshments will be provided and activities are planned for children of all ages and families.  Please plan to stay and celebrate this joyous occasion with fellow community members.

Volunteers Requested to Help

We anticipate many people to attend the Eid prayer on Sunday. To accommodate the volume we need to have cars parked close together and 5 volunteers are needed to help direct people to parking places. Please let us know if you can volunteer, you would need to arrive a t 8:30 for a brief orientation. Thank you!
