Al-Huda Youth Program

We support young Muslims in building strong Islamic knowledge, good character, and a confident Muslim identity through thoughtful, discussion-based learning rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah. Our teachers guide students to ask sincere questions, explore real-life issues, and make informed choices so they can live Islam with understanding and mindfulness of Allah in everyday life.

Program Overview

All students take the following classes:

  • Qur’an (recitation and tajwid)
  • Qur’an Studies (akhlaq, tazkiyah, and tafseer)
  • Islamic Studies (aqidah and fiqh)

2026–2027 School Year

Classes run on Sundays, starting September 20, 2026, and ending May 9, 2027.

Who Can Join?

Registration is open to students ages 5–16.

Classes are held at Al-Huda Islamic Center, 10 Cayuga Vista Dr, Lansing, NY.

Our fee structure for this year includes:

  2. Weekly pizza lunch
  3. Special activities throughout the school year

  • $100 Program Registration Fee
  • $20 Books & Learning Materials
  • $30 Weekly Pizza Lunch (full year)
2+ Siblings

$100 Family Registration Fee \+ $50 per student

Breakdown:

  • $100 Family Registration Fee
  • $50 per student (covers books and weekly lunch)

Overview of Classes

Students are placed into levels based on age, Qur’an reading ability, and prior knowledge to ensure they receive appropriate instruction and support.

Qur’an

Aim: Build strong Qur’an reading skills by developing accurate pronunciation, fluency, and confidence in recitation.
Levels 1–2
  • Build foundational Qur’an reading skills by learning Arabic letters, pronunciation, word recognition, and essential reading rules.
Levels 3–4
  • Strengthen fluency and proficiency of tajwid through structured reading, application of reading rules, independent recitation, and consistent practice.

Qur’an Studies

Aim: Help students connect what they recite to what they understand and how they live, using the Qur’an and Prophetic example to develop faith, character, and self-awareness.
Levels 1–2
  • Explore stories of the Prophets, meanings of selected surahs, and the character of the Prophet (SAW) to develop Islamic manners, etiquette, and everyday habits.
Levels 3–4
  • Study themes from Surah Al-Kahf and principles of tazkiyah to reflect on life’s challenges, recognize spiritual struggles, and cultivate good character through Qur’anic and Prophetic guidance.

Islamic Studies

Aim: Build a strong foundation in Islamic belief (aqidah) and practice (fiqh), helping students understand their faith, develop a relationship with Allah, and apply Islamic teachings in daily life.
Levels 1–2
  • Learn the foundations of Islam and Iman, develop a connection with Allah, and practice essential acts of worship including wudu, salah, fasting, zakah, and hajj.
Levels 3–4
  • Deepen understanding of aqidah and fiqh by exploring the wisdom behind Islamic beliefs and practices and applying them to real-life situations, choices, and challenges.
